DJ in residence: DJ Kwoad

Like last year, DJ KWOAD, the Resident DJ of Raven, will be present again. In the evening he will be bringing you nice (dance) songs. See also his website http://kwoad.netNet

Host: Montague Jacques Fromage

Our host this year is an old acquaintance: Montague Jacques Fromage! montyVLAD1

“From full scale genre conventions to intimate cabaret and pub settings, Monty is the creator and international purveyor of SteampunkFunk Bizarre, Victorian Rap and assorted lyrical conundrums. Steampunk Chronicles’ “Person to Watch/2013″, this US based performer mixes patter, Victorian subject matter and danceable funk backbeat. Adding “music hall” audience participation and stand-up comedy, even the “uninitiated” will understand the plight of a steampunk time-traveler caught up in today’s hectic world. The evening’s entertainment is a delicious comedic confection of funk, soul and just plain fun! Monty (and his alter-ego, Victorian rapper LMJ3) has appeared at major Steampunk conventions in the US, UK, DE, NL, FR, and Luxembourg. He has performed, MC’d and shared stages with Steampunk legends Professor Elemental, Abney Park, Voltaire, Unwoman, Frenchy and the Punk; Dale Rowles/BB Blackdog, Metropolis, Gladstone, BirthRite, and a host of other international Steampunk headliners. Major Steampunk venues have included (USA) Steampunk World’s Fair, Teslacon, AnachroCon, SaltCity Steamfest, WickedFaire: UK/EU venues include Alt-Fest, Asylum, Steampunk Summer Solstice, Aetherfest, Emporium Vernesque, Nox Victoriana Judicio as well as a host of upscale pubs, clubs and intimate cabarets.” https://www.facebook.com/montaguejacques.fromage

The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing

Old school punk rock. Like, REALLY old school.
Genuine 100% actual Londoners, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing come from a past which probably never happened via a present they didn’t want. Less steampunk and more “SteamPUNK”, the British four piece mix Anarchy and Anachrony in equal measure. Expect a robot Sid Vicious covering Slayer in an 1877 East End Music Hall: a murky mix of Doctor Who, Doctor Watson and Doctored history. Not for the faint hearted or those of a delicate disposition

Tie your corset and dust your cylinder for their musical rendezvous. Typewriters click and rotors flutter to swing and folk – from romantic ballads to danceable reggae. A trolley with a gramophone carries historical as well as rare electronic instruments everywhere. With their exceptional style the retro-futuristically dressed musicians navigate into bizarre dream worlds. Their stories tell of adventures with their dirigible through space, time and aether. Schwarzblut (full name: Die goetheanistische Tonkunstgesellschaft Schwarzblut) is a Gesamstkunstwerk. A collective work of art, based on historic German poetry and carried by organic-electronic music. Schwarzblut’s work is outlined by a haunting visual context of imagery in their album artwork and during live shows. Each Schwarzblut release is a group effort, including the arts of composing, poetry, fashion, photography, video and design. Each Schwarzblut live show too is a performance featuring these ingredients.

The group was founded in 2007 and signed with Alfa Matrix in 2009. Through Alfa Matrix the band released the EP ‘Sehlenwolf’ (2009), their debut album ‘Das Mausoleum’ (2010) and their sophomore full-length release ’Maschinenwesen’ (2012). Early 2014 Schwarzblut returned to the scene with the 5-track EP ‘Bis aufs Blut’, an appetiser for their 3rd full-length album ‘Gebeyn aller Verdammten’. This 10 track upbeat album is full of raw synths combined with film score-like orchestrations. Out April 26th 2014 on Alfa Matrix.

Schwarzblut is well known for their energetic and visual live performances including live drums, bass, percussion, video art, male and female vocalists and a host of electronic instruments. The band shared bills with Diorama (D), Faith & The Muse (USA), Gothminister (NO), Sigue Sigue Sputnik (UK), Absolute Body Control (B) and many others.

We have the whole building to ourselves, including the upper movie room (same as last year) and the balcony (workshop room). On www.luxorlive.nl you can find more information about the venue. The capacity is also twice that of last year so more space!! Off course Willemeen will stay play an important role, especially on Friday during a special pre-party!
